Description
xThe fastest, most reliable privacy screen you can plant — a dense wall of rich green that can add 3 feet or more a year.
Thuja Green Giant (Thuja plicata x standishii 'Green Giant') is the gold standard for fast privacy. It carries soft, scale-like sprays of deep green foliage that hold their color through every season, and it grows in a tidy pyramidal habit with a strong central leader. Maturing around 30 to 50 ft. tall and roughly 30 ft. wide, it fills in quickly to create a tall living screen, windbreak, or stately specimen — and a single row spaced correctly becomes a solid hedge within just a few years.
Why growers choose the Green Giant
- Exceptionally fast. One of the quickest-growing evergreens available, often putting on 3 ft. or more per year once established — privacy in a hurry.
- Year-round screen. Dense, soft foliage stays green winter through summer, so the screen never thins out or drops.
- Tall and dependable. Reaches 30 to 50 ft. with a broad pyramidal form, ideal for blocking views, road noise, and wind.
- Tougher than most arborvitae. This hybrid shrugs off heat, humidity, and disease better than common arborvitae, and tolerates a wide range of soils.
- Low maintenance. Holds its handsome shape with little to no pruning and asks for little once its roots are down.
Plant a single row for a fast privacy hedge or windbreak, space a staggered double row for an even denser barrier, or use one as a bold vertical specimen at the corner of the house. Wherever you need height and green in a hurry, the Green Giant delivers.
