xGardenia Tree ‘Aimee’ – Early Blooms, Big Fragrance
If fragrance is your thing, Gardenia jasminoides ‘Aimee’ delivers early and generously. Known for blooming ahead of other gardenias, this variety fills the air with rich, classic perfume just as the season gets going. Large, double white flowers pop against glossy, deep green leaves, giving you a plant that looks as good as it smells.
This variety forms a compact, mounded shrub reaching about 4–6 feet tall, making it easy to place where you’ll actually enjoy it—near an entryway, patio, or open window. In cooler climates, it adapts well to container growing so you can bring it indoors when temperatures drop and keep the show going.
Why You'll Love the Gardenia Tree
- Early blooming variety – flowers arrive ahead of most gardenias
- Highly fragrant – classic gardenia scent, strong and noticeable
- Great for containers – easy to move indoors in cooler climates
- Perfect near entryways – enjoy the scent every time you pass by
- Compact growth habit – fits well in small gardens or patio spaces
- Extended bloom window – late spring into early summer with steady buds
- Evergreen foliage – glossy leaves provide year-round structure in warm climates
Growing Notes
Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy—think evenly damp, like a wrung-out sponge. Place in bright light with some protection from harsh afternoon sun. In colder regions, grow in a container and move indoors before frost for continued enjoyment.
