Add a touch of the exotic to your landscape with the Chinese Dwarf Banana (Musella lasiocarpa), also known as the Golden Lotus Banana. This rare and eye-catching ornamental plant is loved for its brilliant yellow, lotus-shaped flower that can last for months.
Unlike typical banana trees, this compact species stays small (4–6 ft) and is remarkably cold hardy for a tropical-looking plant, tolerating temperatures as low as 10°F with protection. It’s perfect for USDA zones 6–10, and can also be grown in containers and overwintered indoors in colder regions.
The large, banana-like leaves give a lush, tropical vibe, and when mature, the plant produces its signature golden flower atop a short pseudostem. This listing is for a live starter plant, ready to grow in your garden or pot.
While it doesn’t produce edible fruit, its unique beauty makes it a statement piece in any landscape or plant collection.
