Nikko Blue' Hydrangea is a classic shrub that provides flowers of rich blue or deep pink (depending on soil pH) all summer long. For ages it has been the classic name in mophead Hydrangeas, its large, rounded flowerheads gracing many shade gardens.
This plant delivers large beautiful blooms from early to midsummer. Of all the mopheads, it has been renowned for its number of blooms, their size, and their rich colors. The flowers will be blue in acidic soils, pink in alkaline (lime) soils. No matter the color, they will be abundant, long-lasting, and lovely!
'Nikko Blue' reaches 4 to 6 feet high and wide within just a few years. It prefers partial shade and is a quick grower in moist, well-drained garden soil. Use it in the woodland garden, the border, foundation, or anywhere else you need a low maintenance shrub with stunning color.
